Highly recommend for moving services!Posted on Google Vincent ShafferTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. All I can say is that moving with Dream Moving was an absolute dream!! I have heard of so many moving companies who make your move a total nightmare, so I was not going into hiring movers with high hopes. After doing a lot of research and reading many reviews, I was still on the fence on who to hire. It came down to a friend of mine referring me to Dream Moving, so I decided to go with them. I was moving my wife and baby from our 2 bedroom apartment in Manhattan to our new 2 story house in North Carolina. Dream Moving quoted me the lowest out of any other movers (extremely lower than any other company) and they did not raise the price on me in any way before or after the move was over. They arrived on time, moved me out of my apartment, then drove straight through that day/night and delivered my stuff 15 hours later! So many other moving companies would give me a window from anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks, but not Dream Moving! They were professional, courteous, efficient, fast, and reliable. I would really like to thank John, Cristian, and Washington for making everything go so smoothly. You guys were amazing!! John was the best supervisor you could ever work with and Cristian and Washington were the 2 who drove all the way to North Carolina and unloaded all our furniture. I would also like to thank George for putting the quote together and helping me get through the whole process of setting up my move. I will definitely be referring this moving company to everyone I know in the future!Posted on Google Nikki KTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. best moving company in nycPosted on Google Savannah GrimmettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dream Moving is a licensed New York City moving company based in Astoria, Queens. We are movers on the Upper East Side who know the neighborhood’s defining constraint: the most actively governed co-op boards in Manhattan. Park Avenue, Fifth Avenue, and the cross streets between them in Carnegie Hill and Lenox Hill hold a concentration of pre-war co-op buildings whose boards require a Certificate of Insurance, a move deposit, board approval paperwork, and a confirmed freight elevator window before a single box moves. Upper East Side moves are quoted flat, so the price you accept is the price you pay, with no hourly clock and no surprise at the elevator. USDOT 3524817. MC 1244952.

Why a Move on the Upper East Side Requires More Lead Time?
No neighborhood in Manhattan concentrates more co-op board requirements into a smaller geography than the Upper East Side. A co-op on Park Avenue in Lenox Hill may require, before move day: a Certificate of Insurance naming the managing agent as additional insured, a move deposit held by the managing agent, written board approval of the move date and time, a pre-booked freight elevator window of three to four hours, and a walk-through of the service entrance by the building’s superintendent.
Each of those steps has a timeline. The COI must match the board’s specific addendum. The move deposit must be paid and cleared. Board approval takes time if the board only reviews requests at their monthly meeting. A mover who shows up on the confirmed date without every one of those items completed is turned away at the door.
We begin the paperwork process as soon as you book. We send your board’s addendum through our insurance carrier the same day we receive it. We follow up on move deposit instructions and confirm in writing once cleared. We reserve the freight elevator window in writing and confirm it with the building before the crew is assigned.
Upper East Side Sub-Districts We Serve
The Upper East Side runs from the 60s to the 90s and from Fifth Avenue to the East River, and the building character, board requirements, and move logistics differ noticeably from one sub-district to the next.
Lenox Hill (60th to 79th Streets, Fifth to Third Avenues)
Lenox Hill is the primary co-op belt of the Upper East Side. The blocks between Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue are the densest concentration of pre-war cooperative buildings in Manhattan, many dating from the 1920s and 1930s. Boards here frequently require a move deposit in addition to the COI, and freight elevator windows are almost universally limited to weekday morning or afternoon slots. Saturday moves are restricted or prohibited in many Lenox Hill buildings.
We receive the specific requirements from each building at the quote stage, file the COI to match them, confirm the deposit and the freight elevator window, and provide written confirmation before the crew is scheduled.
Carnegie Hill (79th to 96th Streets, Fifth to Third Avenues)
Carnegie Hill is the most board-restricted sub-district in the neighborhood, with some of the most regulated cooperative buildings in the entire city. The blocks from 79th to 96th Streets between Fifth and Park Avenues include buildings where board approval of moving dates is required weeks in advance, move deposits run to a significant sum, and freight elevator windows are three-hour slots available only twice a day on weekdays. We allow extra lead time for Carnegie Hill bookings because the board processes there do not accelerate.
The blocks closer to Third and Lexington Avenues in Carnegie Hill transition to a mix of post-war rental buildings and condos with fewer board restrictions. We confirm the specific requirements for each address rather than assuming from the street name.
Yorkville (79th to 96th Streets, Third Avenue to East River)
Yorkville, east of Lexington Avenue, is a denser and more mixed building stock. Post-war rental buildings and mid-century elevator buildings are the majority, with pre-war co-ops concentrated along the numbered streets closer to Second Avenue. COI requirements are standard in managed buildings, but move deposits and board approval processes are less frequent than in Lenox Hill or Carnegie Hill. Freight elevator windows are typically managed by the super or front desk and the process is more straightforward.
The Medical Triangle and the 60s to 70s East
The blocks in the 60s and 70s east of Third Avenue, near Sloan Kettering, New York-Presbyterian, and the other medical institutions, hold a dense mix of rental buildings, managed apartment towers, and a smaller number of co-ops. Move logistics here center on truck placement: the streets around the hospital complex have commercial vehicle restrictions during business hours, and some blocks near York Avenue are narrow enough to require a NYC DOT parking permit for the truck. We plan the truck position before move day.
How Flat-Rate Upper East Side Moves Are Priced?
Dream Moving quotes Upper East Side moves as a flat rate. The figure is set from the inventory, the building type and board requirements at both addresses, the freight elevator window duration, and the distance between the two addresses. Once you accept it, that number is the invoice total.
A flat rate matters most on the Upper East Side because co-op board requirements create delays that have nothing to do with how quickly the crew works. A three-hour freight elevator window for a four-bedroom apartment means the crew must be sized to the window, not to a comfortable pace. On an hourly clock, any wait for the elevator, the service entrance key, or the super’s sign-off adds to the bill. On a flat rate, those delays do not.

Dream Moving specializes in tackling these challenges. Our professional team ensures your move is smooth and stress-free from start to finish. We provide services tailored to your needs, no matter the distance or complexity.

The flat rate is recalculated only if you add inventory that was not on the list, and we reprice before loading it so you approve any new figure first. Certificate of Insurance and Co-Op Board Paperwork on the Upper East Side
The COI for an Upper East Side co-op building is not a generic certificate. Each building’s addendum specifies the minimum general liability coverage, who must be named as additional insured, and what the certificate holder line must say. Two buildings on the same block may have different addenda with materially different requirements.
Dream Moving sends the COI through our carrier the same day we receive the board’s addendum. We match the coverage amounts, the named parties, and the certificate language to each building’s specific requirements. Move deposits are coordinated with the managing agent at the same time. For more on what a COI covers and why Upper East Side boards require it, see our guide to COIs for NYC moves.
Board Approval and Move Date Coordination
Many Upper East Side co-op boards require advance approval of the move date. The board’s managing agent is typically the point of contact, and approval may require a formal request submitted ahead of the monthly board meeting. We flag this timeline at the quote stage so you can initiate the approval process with enough lead time for the board to respond before the planned move date.

What Happens on an Upper East Side Move Day?
As movers on the Upper East Side, the crew arrives before the freight elevator window opens, with the truck at the confirmed position on the block, all COI and deposit paperwork already filed, and the service entrance route already confirmed with the super. Furniture is wrapped inside the apartment, carried to the elevator in the correct sequence to fit within the window, and loaded.
At the destination the crew unwraps, reassembles anything taken apart, and places items where you direct. All blanket wrap and packing debris leaves with the truck. Payment is the flat rate confirmed at booking. The crew does not carry a revised invoice.
Moving To or From the Upper East Side
Movers on the Upper East Side handle more than local moves within the neighborhood. A large share of Upper East Side moves cross a boundary: out to the suburbs, into another Manhattan neighborhood, or to another borough.
We handle a move from a Park Avenue co-op to a house in Connecticut, from a Yorkville rental to a Brooklyn brownstone, or from a Carnegie Hill apartment to an Upper West Side building, all on the same flat rate structure. For a move beyond the city, our long distance moving service handles interstate relocations on a binding written quote. For building access questions specific to your situation, our guide to COIs for NYC moves covers the most common co-op board scenarios.

Upper East Side co-op boards routinely turn away movers whose COI does not match the board’s addendum to the letter. An expired COI, a missing workers’ compensation line, or a wrong name in the certificate holder field means the crew goes back to the truck. Verify any mover’s DCWP license number and confirm their COI process in writing before booking. Our license information is available on request before you commit.
