We confirm the slot – or identify the access constraint – before the crew departs, not on arrival.
For walkup buildings, no advance coordination is required beyond confirming the floor and confirming there is legal street access for the truck. The staircase crew is standard for any urgent job at a walkup address – there is no separate stair charge.
