The only company I will use and trust with my things.Posted on AndreeaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Best moving company in NYC! They moved my mother, who’s in her 70s, from Florida to NYC. She felt very comfortable with their team. Everything was smooth, and they went above and beyond to make sure that everything was packed properly. At the destination there was not even one damage. I really appreciate their commitment to provide the best services to their customers. I can not stress enough about their level of professionalism. Sales representatives are efficient and they emphasize with their customers. Definitely will reach out to them again!Posted on Robert NewmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great company and the owner Peter is a great and professional person…. Highly recommend for moving services!Posted on Vincent ShafferTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. All I can say is that moving with Dream Moving was an absolute dream!! I have heard of so many moving companies who make your move a total nightmare, so I was not going into hiring movers with high hopes. After doing a lot of research and reading many reviews, I was still on the fence on who to hire. It came down to a friend of mine referring me to Dream Moving, so I decided to go with them. I was moving my wife and baby from our 2 bedroom apartment in Manhattan to our new 2 story house in North Carolina. Dream Moving quoted me the lowest out of any other movers (extremely lower than any other company) and they did not raise the price on me in any way before or after the move was over. They arrived on time, moved me out of my apartment, then drove straight through that day/night and delivered my stuff 15 hours later! So many other moving companies would give me a window from anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks, but not Dream Moving! They were professional, courteous, efficient, fast, and reliable. I would really like to thank John, Cristian, and Washington for making everything go so smoothly. You guys were amazing!! John was the best supervisor you could ever work with and Cristian and Washington were the 2 who drove all the way to North Carolina and unloaded all our furniture. I would also like to thank George for putting the quote together and helping me get through the whole process of setting up my move. I will definitely be referring this moving company to everyone I know in the future!Posted on Nikki KTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. best moving company in nycPosted on Savannah GrimmettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Moving in Nassau County requires knowing things that no GPS navigation system understands. The Northern State Parkway, Southern State Parkway, Meadowbrook State Parkway, Wantagh State Parkway, and Bethpage State Parkway all ban commercial vehicles and GPS routes moving trucks onto them constantly. The approved truck routes into and through Nassau are the Long Island Expressway (I-495), Route 25 (Jericho Turnpike), Route 25A, Hempstead Turnpike, Merrick Road, and Sunrise Highway (Route 27). Beyond routing, Nassau County’s 100+ incorporated villages create a regulatory patchwork: some villages require moving permits, some restrict commercial vehicle hours, and some Gold Coast estate villages have gated private roads that need advance access coordination. And in the Five Towns – Lawrence, Cedarhurst, Hewlett, Woodmere, and Inwood, the county has one of the largest Orthodox and Hasidic Jewish communities on Long Island, where Shabbat and Jewish holiday scheduling require the same advance coordination we provide in Rockland County.
Dream Moving covers all of Nassau County, from Great Neck, Manhasset, and Port Washington on the North Shore waterfront in the west to Woodbury, Plainview, and Syosset at the Suffolk County line in the east, and from Oyster Bay, Glen Cove, and the Gold Coast villages in the north to Long Beach, Atlantic Beach, and the Five Towns on the South Shore. We plan parkway-exempt routes for every Nassau job. We file COIs same-day for co-op and condo buildings. We coordinate Gold Coast estate gate access. We offer Shabbat-aware scheduling throughout the Five Towns and Orthodox communities. Every job gets an all-inclusive hourly quote with no charges added at the door.

Nassau County Property Types - What Each One Requires
Post-War Suburban Homes - The Nassau Majority
Post-war Cape Cod, Ranch, Split-Level, and Colonial homes built between the 1940s and 1970s define the residential character of Levittown, Hicksville, Uniondale, Elmont, Floral Park, New Hyde Park, Franklin Square, West Hempstead, Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh, Seaford, Massapequa, East Meadow, and dozens of other Nassau communities. These properties typically have driveways, interior staircases, and finished basements requiring full home crews. Move access is generally straightforward. We size crews for the specific home layout at quote time.
Co-op and Condo Buildings
Nassau County has significant stocks of co-op apartment buildings in Great Neck, Manhasset, Port Washington, Garden City, Rockville Centre, Long Beach, Lawrence, Cedarhurst, and Freeport. These buildings require COI naming the managing agent or board as additional insured with minimum $1 million in general liability and separate workers’ compensation – the same standard as NYC co-op boards. Freight elevator windows are enforced by building management in taller buildings. We file COIs same-day at no charge and book elevator windows in advance. For Nassau Village co-op boards that require a move deposit in addition to COI, we note this requirement when we book.
Gold Coast Estates and Gated Village Properties
Nassau County’s North Shore Gold Coast – spanning Old Westbury, Brookville, Muttontown, Upper Brookville, Lattingtown, Mill Neck, Matinecock, Centre Island, Cove Neck, and Oyster Bay Cove – contains some of the most valuable residential real estate in the United States. These communities have gated driveway entrances, long private road approaches, some private roads maintained by village associations, and in several cases weight-restricted bridges over estate streams. Some of these villages have their own local ordinances restricting commercial vehicle hours or requiring advance village notification for large vehicle access. Dream Moving contacts property owners or estate managers before move day, confirms gate access and road dimensions, and verifies any village notification requirements before the crew departs.
Historic Village Center Properties
Nassau County’s incorporated village centers – Port Washington, Roslyn, Sea Cliff, Glen Cove, Oyster Bay village, Locust Valley, Cold Spring Harbor (Suffolk border area), Rockville Centre, Freeport, Hempstead village, and Mineola – have commercial main streets and residential side streets where truck staging during business hours creates parking conflicts. Several of these village centers have restricted parking on main commercial streets during weekday hours. We schedule village-center moves for early morning (before 8 AM) or Sunday and assess truck positioning for every village-center address before the crew departs.
Barrier Island and Waterfront Properties
Long Beach is a city on a barrier island connected to the mainland via the Long Beach Bridge (Route 4A) from Island Park. Moving trucks must cross the bridge, which has a posted height clearance of 14 feet and a toll. Long Beach’s residential streets are a dense grid with limited truck staging in front of multi-family buildings near the boardwalk. Atlantic Beach, Lido Beach, and Point Lookout are accessible via the Loop Parkway bridge approach – commercial trucks are restricted on Loop Parkway itself; access requires using Route 878 or the Long Beach Road bridge approaches. Dream Moving assesses bridge routing and truck height for all barrier island addresses at quote time.
Nassau Incorporated Villages - Permit and Access Reality
Nassau County contains over 100 incorporated villages, many with their own local laws that affect moving day. The regulatory complexity of Nassau’s village structure is unlike anything in the other four NYC boroughs or in Westchester County. Key implications for moves:
Moving permit requirements: Some Nassau villages require advance commercial vehicle permits or move notifications before a moving truck may operate in the village. Requirements vary widely – from informal notification to formal permit applications. Dream Moving researches the specific requirements for every Nassau incorporated village address and files or coordinates any required permits before the move date at no additional charge to the client.
Gold Coast estate village ordinances: Villages including Muttontown, Old Westbury, Brookville, Upper Brookville, Lattingtown, Mill Neck, Matinecock, and Cove Neck have local ordinances that may restrict commercial vehicle hours, require advance village notification, or mandate coordination with village police or DPW for large vehicle operations. We confirm village requirements for all Gold Coast addresses before scheduling.

Dream Moving specializes in tackling these challenges. Our professional team ensures your move is smooth and stress-free from start to finish. We provide services tailored to your needs, no matter the distance or complexity.
LIRR station-area parking restrictions: Nassau County has 49 Long Island Rail Road stations across the Port Washington Branch, Oyster Bay Branch, Hempstead Branch, Long Beach Branch, Far Rockaway Branch, Port Jefferson Branch (Nassau section), Babylon Branch (Nassau section), and the Main Line. Weekday morning commuter parking pressure near all 49 stations creates truck staging constraints from 6 AM to 9 AM. Dream Moving recommends off-peak weekday starts (after 9:30 AM) or weekend scheduling for all addresses within two blocks of any LIRR station in Nassau County.

Our commitment to quality and safety has made us a trusted choice among long distance moving companies.
How Nassau County Moves Are Priced?
All Nassau County moves are priced hourly. The rate is based on crew size and truck configuration. Dream Moving's all-inclusive hourly quote covers labor, truck, fuel, blanket wrap, and basic valuation coverage. Bridge tolls for moves crossing the Long Beach Bridge or using toll roads are included in the quote and never added afterward. There is no flight-of-stairs fee, no fuel surcharge, no charge for COI filing, no charge for Nassau village permit coordination, and no Shabbat scheduling accommodation fee. The minimum job length is 2 hours. The price confirmed at quote is the price on your invoice.
What the Hourly Rate Covers? | What Is Never Added at the Door? |
|---|---|

Truck sized to the job | Fuel surcharge |
Blanket wrap and furniture pads | Long Beach Bridge toll add-on |

They moved my mother, who’s in her 70s, from Florida to NYC. She felt very comfortable with their team. Everything was smooth, and they went above and beyond to make sure that everything was packed properly. At the destination there was not even one damage. I really appreciate their commitment to provide the best services to their customers. I can not stress enough about their level of professionalism. Sales representatives are efficient and they emphasize with their customers. Definitely will reach out to them again!Posted on Robert NewmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really great service! They were extremely professional and took such great care of the furniture and big items. They also provided a COI promptly that met all my buildings requirements (both buildings).
