Parties
This agreement (“Agreement”) is between Dream Moving, a licensed and insured moving company (“Company”), and the client (“Customer”), whose details appear on the estimate, invoice, or booking confirmation.
Services provided
Dream Moving provides residential and commercial relocation services, which may include:
- Local and long-distance moving
- Packing and unpacking
- Loading and unloading
- Furniture assembly/disassembly
- Climate-controlled storage
All services are subject to availability and will be detailed in the customer’s estimate and confirmation.
Estimates and pricing
- Estimates are based on information provided by the customer, including inventory and access conditions.
- Binding Estimates are fixed prices unless additional services are requested or scope changes.
- Non-Binding Estimates are subject to change based on actual time, volume, or labor required.
- Final charges may reflect additional time, materials, tolls, or unforeseen access issues (stairs, elevators, long carry, etc.).
Payment terms
- A non-refundable deposit (typically $50) is required to confirm a booking.
- Payment is due in full on the day of the move, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Accepted forms of payment include credit card, debit card, cash, or certified check.
- Late payments may be subject to a 5% fee per week.
- Tipping is at the customer’s discretion and not included in the estimate.
Insurance and liability
- Dream Moving includes Basic Released Value Protection at $0.60 per pound per item as required by law.
- Customers may request or purchase Third-Party Full Value Protection separately.
- Dream Moving is not liable for:
- Boxes packed by the customer
- Jewelry, cash, or other valuables not disclosed in writing
- Damage due to structural defects in furniture or pre-existing conditions
Claims must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the move.
Customer responsibilities
Customers agree to:
- Provide accurate inventory and access details during booking
- Ensure elevator/reserved parking access if applicable
- Be present during the move or designate a representative
- Secure all fragile items and electronics if self-packed
- Remove valuables, hazardous items, and perishable goods in advance
Cancellation and rescheduling
- Customers agree to:
- Provide accurate inventory and access details during booking
- Ensure elevator/reserved parking access if applicable

Prohibited items
Dream Moving will not move:
- Explosives, firearms, or hazardous materials
- Open food, perishables, or live plants
- Pets or live animals
- Illegal substances
Storage terms
For customers using our storage services:
- A separate storage agreement will outline monthly charges and payment terms
- Late storage payments beyond 30 days may result in access restriction or item disposal under New York lien laws
Stored items are not insured unless Full Value coverage is purchased
Specialty items & hoisting
Items requiring special handling (pianos, safes, sculptures, oversized sofas, etc.) must be declared in advance. Additional charges apply. Hoisting services must be pre-approved and are subject to crew availability and building approval.
Delays & force majeure
Dream Moving is not responsible for delays caused by:
- Traffic conditions, weather, and building access issues
- Mechanical breakdowns
- Events beyond our control, including pandemics, strikes, or emergencies
Governing law & disputes
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York. Disputes not resolved by negotiation will be handled through binding arbitration in New York County.
Entire agreement
This document and the estimate provided constitute the entire agreement between the customer and Dream Moving. No oral promises or modifications are binding unless agreed to in writing.
Please review these terms before your move. Booking with Dream Moving constitutes acceptance of these conditions.
